Welcome to the South Osborne Bugle!

What is the Bugle? It is an email newsletter to let people in the South Osborne area (Riverview and Lord Roberts) know what is going on in the community. It has been operating for almost one year.

Who am I? My name is Andrew Scogen and I am the Manager of the Riverview Community Centre.

Who will have access to the email addresses on this list? No one, other than myself and Dave McWilliams who provides technical support for this list. Dave is the webmaster for www.Riverview.ca. We will not share or provide the list to anyone for any purpose.

Will you get a computer virus by staying on this list? No - we will never send an attachment on this list. We will send web page URLs, but those cannot carry a virus.

Can you get off the list? Anytime you wish - just unsubscribe - click on the word "unsubscribe" in the Bugle E-mail and follow the instructions.

Can anyone add their email address to the list? Yes, just enter your E-mail address and click on "subscribe" above. Right now, we have approximately 300 email addresses. Clearly, the list can grow to a much larger number, but I need your help. Please let your friends and neighbours know about the Bugle and encourage them to subscribe, or simply send me an email at gm@riverviewcc.ca.

What kind of content is on the Bugle? That depends on you. The Bugle is here is serve the community. Send me the announcements you wish to appear in the Bugle. This can be anything from significant community centre or school events to garage sales to concerns about safety in the neighbourhood. The content is up to you. Send your announcements to gm@riverviewcc.ca. BUT, as the editor, I reserve the right to edit announcements for space, I do not promise that a Bugle will be sent out exactly when you want it sent, I want to focus on local content, and the Bugle will NOT be filled with commercial advertising. I will try to limit the Bugle to once a week, and I want to keep the Bugle short - people do not like to read long emails.
