Wanted : Manager for RVCC
Riverview Community Centre is seeking a Club Manager to be responsible for the overall management of the Club. The position requires planning, organizing, monitoring and evaluating all activity at the Club, including managing staff; financial management which includes maintaining financial records, ensuring invoices and payroll are paid as required, applying for grants; handling program registrations. It also includes facility management (ordering supplies, arranging contractors as required) and general administration.
Applicants must demonstrate the following skills or knowledge, preferably through previous work experience:
Essential - ability to manage staff - ability to plan and organize activities and events in co-operation with volunteers - knowledge of basic book-keeping - ability to oversee the maintenance of the building and grounds, with the assistance of a caretaker - ability to communicate effectively and resolve conflict - ability to work co-operatively with volunteers, board and staff - excellent interpersonal skills - familiarity and comfort with communicating by email and keeping computer records, especially in a spreadsheet or database format
Desirable- knowledge of the Riverview community - experience working with computer software (preferably Simply Accounting, Outlook, Word)

The manager position is full time, but arrival/departure times are flexible and can be negotiated. The hours of work must be tailored to the Centre’s busier times of the year (September – June). Attending the once per month evening meetings of the Community Centre Board of Directors and keeping minutes is essential. The salary is $30,000/yr. with the possibility of a bonus depending on grants obtained and hall bookings through the efforts of the manager. The position will be reviewed after the first year to evaluate mutual expectations and RVCC finances.
