Riverview takes top prize in both divisions at this year’s Riverview hockey tournament

You could barely move inside Riverview CC last weekend, as it hosted the annual outdoor hockey tournament. The weather was great, the hockey was outstanding and the grill didn’t stop all weekend! 

This year there were 6 teams competing in the 7+8 year old division along with 6 teams in the 10 A2 division. Although the games were all too close to call till the very end, our own Riverview teams took home the Gold in both divisions. Our own 7+8 white team also won the consolation final.

Along with the hockey action over the weekend was an enormous silent auction and a draw for a signed Alexander Ovechkin picture. A huge thank you to all the sponsors who contributed to the silent auction, it was a great success.

You wouldn’t have gone hungry or thirsty around here either. On Friday and Saturday the volunteers were cooking up hot dogs and hamburgers and on Sunday morning they served a delicious pancake breakfast. And you can’t forget the M & M cookies with the Starbucks coffee!
