November 27: River Heights/Fort Rouge Neighbourhood Resource Network is holding its second Speed Networking Luncheon.

Please read below for a description of the event and see attached invitation for additional information. We hope to see you there!

NRN's Speed Networking II Luncheon FAQs

What is a Speed Networking Luncheon?

Like Speed Dating, in which singles have short two minute meetings with multiple potential dates over an evening, Speed Networking involves rapid introductions between chairs, coordinators and members of several organizations.  It is a fun and fast way to increase your community contacts/networks and knowledge of your community.

How will it work?

When you sign in you will receive a name tag with either Circle A or Circle B and a Table Number marked on it. You begin at your designated circle and for the first twenty minutes, we will go around the circle, introduce ourselves and give a brief description of our organization while we enjoy lunch provided by our sponsors. After lunch and   introductions at your circle, the speed networking begins. You go to your assigned table where you will have a two minute exchange with the person opposite, during which you briefly discuss what you and your organization/business do, and possibly exchange business cards. After the two minutes is up, the people on one side of the table get up and move one seat over to meet the next person. This process continues for the remaining hour of the luncheon.

What is the Goal of Speed Networking?

This is an opportunity for you, as a part of a community organization, to meet many of the other stake-holders in your community, exchange information, and use each other as resources of information and assistance in the future. When you connect your community organizations along a functioning network, much can be accomplished and your ability to serve your community excels.

Please feel free to bring handouts, brochures as a display table will be set up for this purpose. A list will be compiled of all those participants in attendance (wishing to share their organization's contact information) for distribution after the event.

Note:  Based on feedback from last year's event we have made some changes in attempt to improve the event.

Note: If you are a school principal, please feel free to pass this email on to your community liaison or school councillor in your institution.

Note: Please RSVP to nresourcenet@gmail.com if you plan to attend the lunch.
